At this point Twitter is anything, but unknown. Everyone from techies, journalist, to celebs took an interest in the newest to the Social Media Networking platform. Just like all the other forms of social interaction on the web, people start going viral with it. Sean Kingston is one of the first to make a whole song about Twitter users. Singing about RT, people with 5 followers, and following people on their Twitter pages. It's the Twitter love song of the century :)

Yay, today people got a great Christmas present with an upgrade to their Tweetdeck. Tweetdeck seems to still be holding the vast majority of tweeter usage and grows pretty heavily with every update they put out there. Let's get through the fluff and into the the core features that were added.

Haha, I got you to read this. But, no in all seriousness, well as much as possible. The co-founder of the infamous Twitter, Jack Dorsey, sent out a tweet this morning letting us know that he had dreadlocks when he was younger. Wow, this just proves that anyone can make it big! Ever lay down turn off the TV, and try to relax with some good Rest & Relaxation? Then suddenly your phone starts blowing up with tweets on Tila Tequila is on a rampage, Lindsey Lohan is at a club, and someone promoting their get rich quick scheme? Sometimes it will get so bad that I have to turn the phone off to stop it. Well, there is a hidden feature from Twitter that can help out with that little problem. If you go to the Settings Menu --> Mobile, then there is an option to turn off the updates from certain times. So, you can control your phone from going off while at events, work, or sleepy time. I have to say this is my favorite option at Twitter :)

In December Xbox is getting some new features to get people to stay on the Microsoft Live Gold membership. Maybe because they booted a million customers? Here are the features straight from the horses mouth:

Project Gutenberg has a massive amount of free e-books and audiobooks (over 100,000). This is a great place to pick up some older books or child friendly books. They are constantly in the process of having volunteers create the audio portions of the books to increase their library of goodness.

I know that it has always been an amazing thing that Google has that wonderful little street view as component of Google maps. Figuring that there was just a magic fairy sprinkling bits of magic every where to make it just appear like that. But, no there is a lot of work behind this and here is a little animated video from Google showing how it happens.

Microsoft has implemented a workshop for developers to come together and learn about new technologies and mingle with peers in their field of work. This program is called the Professional Developers Conference or PDC for short. The PDC has people from all walks of the earth coming to see what is going on and hoping to learn of some new things.

According to Microsoft, they are now going to use comScore to figure out the usefulness of the in game ads. So, now that means they are going to be watching what you are doing to figure out the effectiveness of the ads we are seeing. Feeling the vomit come up my throat as I think about in game ads. Have they not gotten enough of my money and time? I pay for the system, games, and services therefore I should not see ANY ads at ANY time! Not that little ole me really has an opinion in the eyes of Microsoft, but I am not happy about this Press Release!

I have to recommend this game since it got me hooked for a few days. If you are in the market for a free browser based game with a great community then Evony Online is for you.

Tonight, I was going through TechCrunch (one of my favorite blogs to read) and was pretty upset about this story that I read. The story is all about President Obama and how he does not send any of the twitters from his account that we read (big surprise). But, what really got me rolling was the fact that he stated that he has never used twitter, ever. Claiming that he is an advocate for technology and integration of it in our every day lives, then he should at least do a few tweets. Or, maybe Barack Obama is just a little scared that he will become addicted like the rest of us. Any who. I recommend everyone to head over and read the article by MG Siegler.

President Obama has added a few different things to the White House to make the average citizen feel as though they are a part of the decisions in the country. Barack has kept us informed more of what's going on behind closed doors than ever in the history of the USA. The biggest of these changes is the new White House Webcasting Live. When there is something going on important or when the President himself is giving a speech to the community, it can be seen across the world live and online. The .gov website has even pulled the social networking community into the action too. Using Facebook to chat, give opinions, and answer polls giving feedback for us is easier than ever.

If you can get passed the corny name of the new Barnes & Noble eReader, the Nook, you might see it as worth your time for a look. Though, I don't see it out selling the Amazon Kindle any time soon. With an E Ink display you are able to read as if you are looking at pages in a real paper book. This display also cuts out the glare and backlight from making it look like you are reading off a laptop.


Fonts are sizable allowing you to make them larger to read better or smaller to have less page flipping. The wireless network that the Nook uses it the AT&T 3G or you can connect wirelessly from a wifi that you have access to. Size of the memory has a 2GB, which is what the Kindle has in it.


The ability to add a micro sd card to the device gives you the freedom to expand the amount of space you have or take your card out keeping the ebooks safely for later on. Barnes & Noble is giving samples of the eBooks so that you can read some before you buy the $9.99 new releases. Searching is made easily through the highlighting and bookmarking features that allow you to just jump right to the areas that you want to be in. When you restart your Nook, the eReader automatically remembers what book and page that you were on, and goes right to it to save time. Barnes & Noble has been kind enough to give us a book reader for your computer, iphone, or blackberry so that the books are still readable even if you don't have the reader on you. They have given us the functionality to lend out ebooks to friends for up to 14 days using their free software download. Look fashionable with your covers on the Nook that give it a little flare.
